New DVD on Adverse Childhood Experience

There is a new compilation of the latest research on the long-term impact of childhood adversity.  I have written about this key subject in earlier blogs (here and again here).  Now there is a new DVD where the latest research and its implications for policy are presented by those who conducted the studies.

The DVD received a positive review in the Journal of the American Medical Association and in the Kaiser Permanente Journal.  It can be purchased from the Academy on Violence and Abuse (for $45 this year, increasing to $65 next year) and their website has a short video excerpt available.  This DVD should be seen by mental health professionals, primary care medical clinicians, public health officials, social workers and any members of the public who have adverse childhood experience themselves or in their loved ones.
